“Constant Free Content Updates” Promised For Helldivers 2 Post Release

Sounds pretty awesome

Some awesome news for the prospective freedom forging heroes of Helldivers 2, with a wicked statement coming from developer Arrowhead Game Studios regarding their post-release strategy.

In short, they intend to “constantly” update the game to bring more content to it, such as “Enemies, objectives, biomes, etc” – and that this bonanza will “always be free”:

It’s a refreshing set of words to read, free of any obfuscating business speak or careful marketing talk. Just a passionate promise to players that they are going to be getting more cool stuff even after they have dropped some coin on bringing democracy to the galaxy.

Just in case there was any room to misinterpret such a statement, website MP1st even took the time to screencap the words as they were revealed by Johan Pilestedt, the Chief Executive Visionary of Creative & Business Strategy at Arrowhead when it was shared in the game’s official Discord:

While no super-specifics are out there (the game hasn’t yet released, obviously) the content described pretty much nails what people would want from a game that is all about shooting enemies, completing objectives and doing so in a variety of neat and creative locales.

A roadmap may well be delivered at a later stage, but even hearing the intention from the developers is more than enough to get people keen to deploy indiscriminate freedom across every dark corner of the universe.

Helldivers 2 releases on February 8 on both PS5 and PC.
