We’ve long since passed the phase of Cyberpunk 2077’s infamous launch, and sentiment regarding the game has grown to be rather positive, especially following numerous bug fixes and patches. Our very own Kieron Verbrugge scored the game 7.5 in his review, stating “Cyberpunk 2077 is a game with a lot of ideas, some of which are executed fairly well, but scant few of which come close to being groundbreaking in any way.”
Regardless, CD Projekt Red has been slowly moving onwards to newer things, and overnight they unveiled the fruits of their labour – Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. Slated for a 2023 release window, Phantom Liberty is positioned as an expansion to the 2020 RPG. The announcement was made via the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account.

Not much is really shown outside of a few gameplay snippets, and a voiceover that states “I, V, do solemnly swear that I shall faithfully serve the New United States of America.” What is interesting, however, is that the listed platforms at the end of the teaser trailer only list the current generation of consoles, but not the previous generation of consoles which the game is also one. Hell, even Stadia is listed as a supported platform but not PS4/Xbox One.
Pawel Sasko, the quest director for Cyberpunk 2077, followed up the tweet by saying “We are really doing our best to deliver an incredible experience for you and are beyond excited to show you this small glimpse into Phantom Liberty.”
