A Sneak Peek Of The BlizzCon 2023 Schedule Has Been Revealed

Here’s a first glimpse of the festivities

Blizzard has thrown up a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming BlizzCon weekend, with a graphic showcasing a range of neat reveals and activities.

The event has been mostly absent since 2019 – but makes a triumphant return in Anaheim this November 3-4, promising a variety of sweet options for event-goers:

Straight out the gate you can see that the next Overwatch 2 character will be introduced at Blizzcon, with the ‘Tank’ icon proudly displayed. In an earlier speculation piece, I talked about Mauga being a possibility – easy to believe given that he was in pre-production already and has been sitting in the back pocket of Blizzard, waiting for the chance to get out there. So Overwatch 2 fans have some hype awaiting them – especially with the Overwatch World Cup reaching it’s thrilling conclusion. Let’s go Mayhem!

In a cool twist, there will also be some exhibition matches of the Warcraft Rumble mobile game – a surprisingly moreish little title that is actually super fun to watch. I have mates who have been playing it on Twitch, and it scratches a very similar itch to watching Hearthstone players talk through their turn. I am oddly excited to check this out.

Beyond these showcase items, there are also the traditional BlizzCon goodies to enjoy, with the opening ceremony promising key reveals and more – alongside the Community Night that houses the cosplay competition that I love so much.

There are also some new, unique items that are yet to be explained or revealed. What is the Horadric Library? A real-life Darkmoon Faire? What kind of festivities await us in the Inclusion Nexus?

Looks to be a very broad, awesome event with something for everyone.

Except StarCraft fans of course. That sad corner of my heart is not seeing anything StarCraft related in the schedule, let alone the marketing materials.

Clearly that is because next year will be wholly StarCraft-centric. Surely. I’ll do enough hoping for the both of us.

What do you think of the Blizzcon Schedule? Does it have something on offer for you? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
