Apex Legends PS5 And Xbox Series X|S Versions Launch Tomorrow With Warriors Collection Event

The Outlands is getting a fresh coat of paint

Developer Respawn Entertainment has announced that Apex Legends will be receiving a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S update tomorrow.

These long-awaited nu-gen versions will bring with them a number of new features and improvements including 4K visuals, full 60Hz gameplay, HDR support, higher resolution shadow maps and greater draw distances. Those playing on Xbox Series X|S won’t have to do a thing, as Smart Deliver will take care of the update, with PS5 players being required to download the new version and then delete the PS4 version.

The announcement also confirms that Respawn is working on further updates to these new versions. Planned content for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S includes 120Hz gameplay, visual and audio improvements as well as haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support for PS5. We don’t have a set timeframe for these additional features, but we can assume that they will be on the way ASAP.

These new versions launch side-by-side with the new Warriors Collection Event, spanning from March 30 until April 13. This event will see the return of the 9v9 mode Control that made its debut at the start of Season 12. The return of this mode will see players battling it out within the Caustic Treatment map, torn straight from King’s Canyon.

The Warriors Collection Event will also introduce a new arenas map called Drop-Off. Far above the Malta skyline, this high-tech map is located atop the Hammond Manufacturing Tower and will feature plenty of open space and room to get into a fight.

Of course, the Collection Event will include a reward tracker and a plethora of cosmetic items to both earn and purchase, but the most exciting new piece of gear is Crypto’s new Heirloom: the Biwon Blade. Those with deep pockets will be able to grab this for themselves if they collect all 24 event-specific loot ticks.
