Ubisoft has officially announced Assassin’s Creed Mirage as the next entry into the long-running series.
This official announcement comes after several online leaks detailing several aspects of the game. We now know that the leaks, which were primarily covered by YouTuber jOnothan and largely corroborated by Bloomberg’s Jason Shreier, were correct regarding the title and the Baghdad setting.
Still, the other details are yet to be confirmed, such as a “back to basic” approach to the game and the apparent release window of Spring 2023.
Heading back into more official territory, the announcement was made on Twitter, with the name reveal and artwork that depicts what we can assume to be the protagonist of Mirage leaping through the air to perform an assassination. Whether or not this character is, in fact, Bassim from Valhalla is still unknown.
The Tweet also states that the next time we hear/see more about Mirage will be during the Ubisoft Forward event on September 10. Ubisoft previously stated that “the future of the Assassin’s Creed” will be unveiled in September, so this is likely what they were referring to.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is the next Assassin's Creed game.
