Developer Firewalk Studios has revealed the post-launch plans for its upcoming first-person multiplayer shooter, Concord.
In a PlayStation Blog post, Game Director Ryan Ellis detailed the studio’s plans for post-launch content and provided an overview of what the game will ship with on day one. When the game drops on August 23, players will have immediate access to six modes, 12 maps, 16 Freegunners (and eight variants), as well as a host of cosmetic items and progression options. Once October rolls around, Season 1: The Tempest will kick off, bringing with it a new Freegunner, a new map, multiple new variants and cosmetics, alongside a range of quality-of-life updates to keep the game balanced.
Firewalk is looking ahead even further, announcing that the season after that will hit in January 2025, presenting a similar slate of fresh content, as well as a new mode. The image even hints that a third season will follow in April 2025. The post reaffirms that players will get a new cinematic vignette on a weekly basis while also confirming that the game will feature a storefront for cosmetic items, bolstering the items that can be earned through in-game progression if you want to throw some coin at the game.
Concord servers will go live across PS5 and PC on August 21 at 3am AEST for those who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition, with everyone else gaining access on August 24 at 3am.
We played a good amount of Concord during its beta weekends, coming away more positive than many. I enjoyed the tight gunplay and awesome character design, so I’m looking forward to the full release.
