Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has been easing into a much more friendly place with recent updates, and todays Tools of War content drop continues the trend of just making things all round better for all.
A highlight of the update includes a change to the hub area, to make the management of weapons a ton easier. It’s a renovation to more easily access the boomstick station!
While the video makes a great point of showcasing new weapon variants, the Blog Post for the update details exciting new conditions to spice up the missions you have long become comfortable running. How about a condition where the environment is now foggy, and snipers are peering through the mist? Seeing that laser sight cutting through the vapor is sure to liven things up.
They have also taken a spanner to the Psyker, overhauling the mechanic of quelling – basically the act of reloading your brain. It’s a very deft game of push and pull, with the main negative outcome being the accidental explosion of your own head. So seeing such a dramatic set of changes does a lot to instil confidence in them wanting people to actually enjoy the class.
