Bend Studio has quietly announced that it’s working on a new, multiplayer-focused IP while showcasing the studio’s new logo.
As part of a lengthy PlayStation Blog post that unveiled the studio’s sleek new logo, while also looking back on the team’s previous games, Community Manager Kevin McAllister revealed that Bend’s next project will be a brand new IP that includes multiplayer that “builds upon the open-world systems of Days Gone.”
“The new Bend Studio logo is just the beginning of Bend Studio’s future. As part of the PlayStation Studios family, we promise to continue bringing you quality experiences that aim to leave an everlasting impact with you. Today, we are excited to share just a snippet of news on our current project. We are currently working on a new IP that includes multiplayer and builds upon the open-world systems of Days Gone, but brings you a whole new world that we are extremely excited to craft for you. We cannot wait to reveal it to you when the time is right.”

Though many would be glad to see a sequel to Days Gone, reports claim that Sony refused to greenlight the follow-up, instead, moving Bend on to work on other projects. We’ll have to wait and see exactly what this new project is, but the thought of a multiplayer game building on the foundations laid by Days Gone is a very interesting one.
