Forspoken Has Been Delayed Until 2023

Another setback

Square Enix has announced that Forspoken has been delayed until January 4, 2023.

Originally scheduled for an October 11 release, the action RPG will now hit PS5 and PC early next year. The announcement came via a statement posted to Twitter, stating that “As a result of ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to move the launch date of Forspoken to January 24, 2023. ”

This isn’t the first time that Forspoken has been pushed back either, as the game was meant to launch on March 25 this year, before being shifted to its aforementioned date in October. As always, we’d prefer that the developer take the time they need to complete work on the game, but hopefully this new date sticks. Seeing as though the statement makes it clear that “all game elements are now complete, and development is in its final polishing phase,” I’m hopeful that Forspoken will be playable in January.
