Gotham Knights Gets A 13-Minute Red Hood And Nightwing Gameplay Walkthrough; PS4 And Xbox One Version Cancelled

Guns and escrima sticks aplenty

Warner Bros. has dropped a new 13-minute gameplay trailer for Gotham Knights, focusing on playable characters Red Hood and Nightwing.

The extensive gameplay demo details the upcoming action game’s combat and traversal, while also looking at the stealth mechanics and gear system. Swapping back and forth between Nightwing and Red Hood, we get a good feel for the different combat styles that the two crimefighters employ. Nightwing, being the acrobat that he is, uses agility to leap between opponents, walloping them with his two escrima sticks. On the other hand, Red Hood uses non-lethal pistols to deal large amounts of damage from a distance.

During combat, we see Red Hood and Nightwing using team takedowns to inflict increased damage, as well as elemental abilities that cause enemies to become frozen. Seeing as though Gotham Knights can be played in two-player co-op, it’s like there will be some cool combinations on offer when taking down goons.

We also got a quick look at the traversal options that these two heroes will use to get around the open world. Nightwing uses a rocket-powered glider called the Flying Trapeze, while Red Hood uses an ability called Mystical Leap, which allows him to jump in thin air using soul energy. We also get a look at Red Hood using the Bat Cycle to take down criminals trying to escape. Whereas the prior abilities are character-specific, all four heroes have access to the Bat Cycle.

As mentioned, we also get a quick look at the gear system, with Nightwing looking over a number of different options in the Belfry. Gear not only changes your look but seems to offer buffs such as power rating, armour rating, health value and momentum generation percentage depending on what you equip. At the end of the trailer, we get to watch Red Hood take on a Talon Gladiator, a giant mystical assassin used by the Court of Owls, one of the main antagonists in the game.
