Developer Ninja Theory has announced that their narrative-driven action title Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice has just been given a free upgrade on Xbox Series X/S, improving its visuals and performance. The upgrade is live right now across both next-gen Xbox consoles, improving the game’s resolution and framerate while adding in ray tracing, a chapter select and updated materials and particles.
Once the update has been installed, players will be given the choice between three modes; Performance, Resolution and Enriched. These modes differ between the two consoles, but luckily for us, Ninja Theory has put together a handy graphic that breaks down exactly what each mode will offer on both consoles.
If you haven’t played Hellblade yet, I would strongly suggest that you get around it, especially with this new upgrade further improving the already incredible title (we gave it a 9.8). Senua’s Sacrifice explores mental health and the struggles surrounding loss in a way that no other game has and it’s absolutely worth experiencing for yourself. If you’ve got a Series X/S and Game Pass you can even get it downloading for no extra cost, so get on it.
Have you played Hellblade before? Will this update have you playing it again? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
