Here’s Everything That Was Announced During The September 2025 PlayStation State Of Play

Claws, controllers, and Kohli

These showcases getting announced 24 hours in advance is diabolical. How am I meant to start speculating, overanticipate, be disappointed that my ridiculous predictions weren’t met, then complain online, if you’re only going to give me a day to squeeze it all in? For real, video game publishers need to take a good, hard look in the mirror and remember who they are doing all of this for.

Anyway, that’s the world we live in now, so it’s best to move on and accept this dystopian new present.

PlayStation dropped a 35-minute State of Play showcase on us this morning, promising a look at various first and third-party games, while only confirming the appearance of Housemarque’s Saros, which had me out of bed faster than ever this morning. Overall, we got a solid showing, bookended by two mammoth first-party titles that will undoubtedly appeal to a great many who were watching in the early hours of this morning.

Without further delay, here are all of the announcements to come out of the September 2025 PlayStation State of Play:

Saros

Like a bull out of a gate, we kicked off the State of Play with the one game that was announced ahead of time. The follow-up to the fantastic Returnal, Saros looks to build on what came before, while injecting more options for aggressive play, and popping the brilliant Rahul Kohli in as the game’s protagonist. You can read more about the game here, but all you really need to know is that it looks incredible and managed to snag a March 20, 2026, release date for PS5.

Zero Parades – For Dead Spies

Obviously, I have to start by saying that this is the next game from the studio behind Disco Elysium, but, honestly, I’m not sure what that really means nowadays. In any case, Zero Parades – For Dead Spies (great name) is a narrative-heavy RPG with an isometric perspective, a killer art style, and enough options to send you into full-blown paralysis. No release date yet, but we’re told it’s coming in 2026.

I know Gears of War: Reloaded just released on PS5 a few weeks ago, but it still felt strange to see that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 would join it on December 8. Maybe it’s because Microsoft is literally in the title.

Battlefield 6

We’ve seen a lot of Battlefield 6 multiplayer, and I’ve played a lot of Battlefield 6 multiplayer, so when this next trailer kicked off, I expected to see even more from the first-person shooter’s online suite. But no, this was a proper look at the single-player campaign, complete with enough explosions and allusions to world domination to sink a Call of Duty. It looks rad, you can read more about it here, but know that you’ll soon be able to get your hands on it come October 10.

Deus Ex Remastered

I may not have nostalgia for the series, but I know a great many people who do. Deus Ex, the original futuristic stealth-action game, is getting a nice little facelift, including a graphical bump and some quality-of-life improvements. If you’re keen to get all cyberpunk and grim, you can pick it up when it releases on February 5, 2026.

Halloween

I know, it’s another asymmetric multiplayer game based on a horror franchise, I know! But…

If we’re being fair, Halloween seems to be trying something different, at least. Playing as civilians, you’re tasked with shepherding innocent townsfolk to safety, while the person playing as Michael is looking to fuck them up with a kitchen knife. Teleporting abilities, that killer soundtrack, and a faithful recreation of Haddonfield will get me through the front door for this one. Insanely, it got a release date of September 8, 2026, which is a long way off. Anyway, it’s bound to be better than Halloween Kill and Halloween Ends. Good lord.

Last Epoch is one of those games that I confuse with at least a dozen others when I watch its trailers. Then I watch its isometric combat and think, “Oh damn, this looks like a good time post Diablo IV.” In any event, the game is making its way to consoles alongside its first major expansion, Orobyss. There’s no release date for that expansion, but it’s cool to know that it’s coming.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin

One Piece is my only anime vice, so I can’t say I know much about Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, but I hope fans are after a free-to-play co-op RPG, because that’s what it is. This one is coming to PS5 on January 28, 2025.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds | Mega Man DLC

If you’ve sprung the cash for the ultra deluxe mega awesome edition, you might be playing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds right now. And, if you are in that cashed-up group, you can enjoy the Mega Man DLC that includes Mega Man and Proto Man as playable racers, as well as the Rusty Roadstar vehicle and Wily Castle track. It’s out now, so get Mega Blasting.

Nioh 3

Holy smokes, there’s a lot of infighting and delusions of grandeur in this trailer. If you like your soulslikes steeped in Japanese mythology, you’ll be all too familiar with the Nioh series, so you’re probably stoked to learn that Nioh 3 got a February 6, 2026, release date during this showcase.

Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered

Originally released on the PS2 back in 2001, Dynasty Warriors 3 is making a return with the Complete Edition Remaster. Uplifted to modern standards in Unreal Engine 5, this will be a blast from the past for anyone keen on these Musou-style one vs 1000 titles. You can expect to play it on March 19, 2026.

Code Vein II

This trailer was certainly…well-endowed. Moving past the vampire cleavage, this game’s character designs are top-notch, and the action looks like it’ll scratch the itch for soulslike sickos. The bitey and breasty Code Vein II drops on January 30, 2026.

Let it Die: Inferno

I’m not sure what to make of this one. Let it Die: Inferno is a rogue-like survival game set in an otherworldly abyss known as the Hell Gate. It’s a PvPvE experience that will challenge players to combat fellow Raiders and monstrous creatures alike as they explore and survive. It’s not my flavour of strange, but those who played the first game will likely be interested. And there’s not long to wait, as Let it Die: Inferno drops on December 3.

Chronoscript: The Endless End

Well, this isn’t the sequel to A Plucky Squire that I was expecting. Jokes aside, Chronoscript: The Endless End is a 2D-ish action platformer set within a collection of books that looks really neat. James and Keiran will sympathise with the premise, as an editor is trapped within a story that won’t end, which must be what it feels like when they edit any of Zach’s point-and-click reviews. We’ve only got a vague 2026 release window, but it’s one we’ll keep an eye on.

Crimson Desert

Crimson Desert is one of those white whale games that I never expected to see the light of day. An open-world action-adventure game filled with magic, brutal-looking melee combat, grand fantasy tales, and more systems than you can shake a development cycle at. At long last, we now know that Crimson Desert will launch on March 19, 2026.

Speaking of left-field announcements. Sony randomly decides to release a product out of the blue every few months, and this is the next cab off the rank. The Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers are a set of wireless speakers that leverage Sony’s proprietary PlayStation Link technology. With low latency and Bluetooth connectivity, these bad boys are positioned as your all-in-one audio set-up, able to connect to multiple devices at once, including your PlayStation-branded gear, as well as your PC and phone. They look interesting, and will be available sometime next year.

PlayStation Plus October Update

Short and sweet here. Alan Wake II, Goat Simulator 3, and Coccoon will be your games in October’s PlayStation Plus Essentials update. Seriously, folks, that’s a hell of a trio right there. My heart skipped a beat when The Last of Us Part II Remastered came up on-screen, thinking that it was somehow another re-release, but it’s just coming to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue. Oh, and, more importantly, Tekken 3, Soul Calibur 3, and Tomb Raider Anniversary are also joining the list.

Gran Turismo 7

The Gran Turismo series has sold over 100 million units. That’s insane. To celebrate, Polyphony is releasing the Spec III update, introducing eight new cars, new tracks, and new features to Gran Turismo 7. Fans can expect this update to be released in December.

God of War 20th Anniversary Limited Edition DualSense Controller

The DualSense hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to limited edition variants so far, but this one bucks the trend. The God of War 20th Anniversary DualSense takes on the colour palette of our favourite rage-filled Spartan, even sporting his iconic red tattoo. There’s not too much else to say, other than you can buy it on October 23. Actually, it’ll presell out, so look on shopfronts for pre-orders on October 3.

Marvel’s Wolverine

I said that the showcase was bookended by bangers, and I wasn’t lying. The last thing to wrap up this State of Play was our first proper look at Marvel’s Wolverine. Our main question: “Would it be as violent as the character demands it to be? Yeah, that was answered pretty quickly. Yes.

You can read more about the gameplay reveal and the developer deep-dive here, but in the meantime, just take a look at the awesome action that takes place in this reveal trailer. Good lord, it’s glorious.

If my slow descent into madness was too apparent and too grating for you, you’re more than welcome to watch the full State of Play showcase right here:
