Hollow Knight: Silksong Delayed Again, Missing Its ‘First Half Of 2023’ Release

We still have the second half of 2023, right guys?

To say people are hotly anticipating Hollow Knight: Silksong feels like an understatement.

The sequel to the brilliant Hollow Knight has had some hardship in its development, with many quiet periods and delays – with fans finally settling into the expected Q1-Q2 2023 release schedule.

Only, an update from Matthew Griffin (Marketing & Publishing for Hollow Knight: Silksong) explains that “it’s gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can”, mentioning that the planned release isn’t likely.

The tweet ends by telling fans to expect more details “once we get closer to release”, with the awkward question being when that may be – all people can nail down is that it won’t be between January and June this year.

For Hollow Knight enthusiasts, patience may be running thin. The game has only a shallow pool of media availed to it – some replies to the Tweet at least preach understanding, but humbly ask for at least an updated trailer to show the current state of the game.

Whatever the case, the crew at Team Cherry must be hard at work crafting a sequel that can live up to its predecessor’s acclaim.

Are you keen for Hollow Knight: Silksong? Is this latest delay a surprise to you at all? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
