Intrepid players of Marvel Rivals figured that a proper PvE component for the game would come eventually – and the spooky season seems set to deliver with an official zombie mashing mode:
As a loose tie-in with the Marvel Zombies series that has dropped on Disney+, the mode will see players taking to the streets of midtown to face the undead horde face-on – including some fallen heroes that seek to make the monster mash a great deal more challenging.

Under Khonshu’s shadow, the Queen of the Dead commands her undead army to take over Midtown. Unite with Marvel’s mightiest heroes and face her in the Marvel Rivals’ first-ever PvE mode – Marvel Zombies!
Players can also utilise a range of upgrades to change the build of their character, giving unique powers and buffs to assist with your undead onslaught. Fancy a more offensive Jeff, exploding your healing bubbles to damage a zombified Namor? That’s absolutely a thing you can do.
It looks like a fun little experiment, and may be a good shot in the arm to a game that has recently seen it’s meteoric popularity start to plateau a tad.
