Marvel Rivals is edging ever closer to their Season 2.5 update, dropping details for the next new character and intending to turn the meta on its head by doing so.
The magnificent villain Ultron has been revealed – packing a ton of unique tools to dispatch, destroy and delay death. Divers beware, this b*tch bites back.
Yeah, he is a strategist character. But you’d be forgiven for thinking he was a DPS character after taking one look at his playstyle:
For people like myself, that watched the above video and struggled to figure out how on Earth he is considered a strategist/support character, here is a quick and simple breakdown of abilities to so you can see which ones hurt and which ones help:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Encephalo-Ray | Unleash a burning energy beam. |
Dynamic Flight | Quickly dashes in the direction of movement. |
Imperative: Patch | Commands a giant drone to follow an ally, constantly healing allies within its radius, with additional healing for the designated ally. |
Imperative: Firewall | Summons drones to grant bonus health to nearby allies, centered on Ultron and the ally marked with Imperative: Patch. Great for holding objectives. |
Rage of Ultron | Summons Ultron Drones to fire Encephalo-Rays, which can either damage enemies or heal allies. (Ultimate Ability) |
Ah. So he is chock full of lasers and drone – and some of them heal. It’s great to see that the ultimate ability is essentially the giga-laser from Moira in Overwatch, as that ability has a special place in my heart. The ability to properly fly (Sorry Adam Warlock) is also a great deal of fun for Strategist players, even if it is a short cooldown ability.
Ultron will make his way to the battlefield in Season 2.5 of Marvel Rivals on May 30, so get ready to look to the skies.
Are you excited to play as Ultron? Well too bad, I am locking him in first. Tell me how that upsets you in our comments, or on social media.
