Helldivers 2’s Galactic War Has Finally Reached Home

Super Earth is now a battleground

Just a short week ago we reported that the galaxy-spanning conflict of Helldiver’s 2 was edging dangerously close to our own backyard. The fearsome Illuminate faction have pushed their way from the fringes of our solar system, stopping for nothing – and with only one goal in their mind.

And today, they have achieved that goal.

They are in our backyard.

The latest update to Helldiver’s 2 has activated Super Earth as a place of total war, with city streets teeming with civilian life – and now, monstrous squid people. Buildings are wracked with laser fire, and fall to the ground below as defence forces try to fight back. Immense Illuminate ships duck and weave through the city line, peppering the ground below. It’s chaos.

And it’s awesome. The game has always had a penchant for upping the ante and reminding us that war always escalates, but the gang at Arrowhead have delivered something absolutely crazy to show just how intense a war on your home turf can be.

Jump into Helldiver’s 2 to experience what total war looks like – making sure to grab some mates, because this is some gnarly stuff. The fight to save Super Earth from total annihilation has begun.

Thank god the Helldivers are here.

Are you gearing up to face the Illuminate threat? Ready to send them home? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
