With Marvel’s Avengers only just over two months away, many awaiting fans are ready for any information. Well today’s news may not affect you at the game’s launch but will definitely help ease your concerns when the time comes to think about upgrading to next-gen consoles.
Crystal Dynamics’ Chief Technology Officer, Gary Snethen, via a Playstation Blog post, talked about how the PS5 will allow them to push the game’s visuals and performance to another level. Here are a few key points from the post:
- The new GPU in the PS5 will allow for an increase in texture resolution as well as many other visual enhancments
- A high frame-rate mode will be available on PS5, which will “target 60FPS at dynamic4K resolution”
- The PS5’s SSD will allow for “lightning fast load speeds”
Some of the best news came at the end of the post though, with the announcement that owners of the PS4 version of the game (either digital or physical) will get the PS5 version of the game for FREE if you decide to upgrade your console. Also announced was cross-play between PS4 and PS5, so you can play online no matter which Playstation generation you and your friends may have.
