Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is creeping ever closer, and with it comes new information on the official ESRB rating for the product – which turns out to be an unsurprising ‘T for Teen’. Pretty standard stuff.
The more surprising element is the granular details regarding why this decision was made – a lot of the visuals mentioned, such as someone being choked to death or the appearance of blood on a leaf – have already been shown in the initial Kraven trailer, but a few dot points speak to some naughty words that will appear in the dialogue.

Now, someone saying “ass” is of no concern to me. However, the use of the word “prick” is something that tickles me greatly. Mostly because it is such a bespoke, specific insult. Some slanderous calls employ an element of interpretation to them, working within the confines of the situation or individual.
But “prick” is eternal. It simply paints the picture of someone who is insufferable. I love it.
So, who is the prick? Is it Peter, wearing his shiny new suit? Is it a villain? Perhaps the legendary Norman Osborn will fire it off in a vitriol-laced diatribe.
Really, it is no surprise that the game has receive the equivalent of an Aussie ‘M’ rating given it’s subject matter – but this prick-ish tidbit has me aflutter with wondering who is going to drop the P-bomb.
I hope it’s MJ.
