A short trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been released to celebrate the Summer Game Fest, with a little more sizzle for the grim darkness of the far future.
Clocking in at a mere 40 seconds, you’d imagine there wasn’t much to show that had not already been seen from the title – but oh boy, how wrong we all are:
Fight alongside your mates or against them in #SpaceMarine2 ⚔️

Showing a little more of the insane conflict that comes from fighting a ravenous horde of horrible bug creatures, we are treated to perhaps the greatest bit of Warhammer 40,000 visual media I have ever imbibed: Watching a Space Marine absolutely clock a Carnifex right in the jaw.
If you missed it, here is the glorious freeze frame of the punch occurring:
Obviously it is an execution type finishing move within the game, I am pretty certain that you can’t play the game and just run around punching Carnifexes to death – but imagine. It’s particularly amazing when you have a rough understanding of the forces of both the Tyranids and the Space Marines, because while a Space Marine is effectively a walking tank – a Carnifex can be equated to something like a bipedal buzzsaw that is roughly the size of a food van. Staunching one of these idiots fair in the jaw is incredible.
The trailer ends with a short notice that a Gameplay Overview Trailer is slated to be show off in the coming weeks, so mark your calendars for June 21 if you are keen to see more. Sadly it isn’t a livestream or a Q&A, because I’d like to know more about punching monsters in the jaw.
It’s going to be a long wait for the September release date. Oh boy.
Did you catch that epic biff? Have you ever dreamed of cleaning a monsters clock with your knuckles? Tell us all about it in the comments or on social media.
