Oddworld: Soulstorm Releasing In April; Will Be Free For PS5 PS Plus Members

Abe is back this April

During this morning’s PlayStation State of Play broadcast, Oddworld: Soulstorm, the newest entry in the popular Oddworld series (sorta, it’s a re-imagining of Abe’s Exoddus)was given an April 6 release date. But in ever better news, it was revealed that the game will be free for PS5 PS Plus members from April 6 to May 3, 2021. Unfortunately, PS4 owners will need to purchase the game. If you’re wondering how much it’ll slug the hip pocket, it’s currently $74.99 on the Epic Games Store.

Lorne Lanning, co-founder and president of Oddworld’s developer Oddworld Inhabitants, narrated a gameplay video that showed off more of what players can expect from Soulstorm. Lanning called Soulstorm a 2.9D platformer and mentioned that the game will utilise the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback to allow players to feel Abe’s heartbeat.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting for Soulstorm for what feels like forever, so I am stoked that it finally has a release date and that it looks like a damn good Oddworld time. Check out the trailer below:

Oddworld: Soulstorm is coming to PS5, PS4 and PC via the Epic Games Store on April 6, 2021.
