The final Overwatch 2 season of 2025 is upon us – bringing with it the new melee damage hero Vendetta, new castmates for Stadium and a Mythic skin for Cassidy.
If you had a chance to jump in and see Vendetta in action, you will know that things are about to get a whole lot more up close and personal for people with an aversion to swords. Marzia Bartalotti is the daughter of former Talon Leader Antonio Bartalotti, and she comes to Overwatch with a bone to pick with absolutely everyone – playing the role of a proper villain, given that she wants to extort and/or murder anyone who gets in her way. Gameplay wise, she poses a problem for me as a support player, so if you don’t want to deal with her you can always dip into Stadium mode.
Speaking of Stadium, the mode will of course get two new faces in season 20 – Doomfist and Wuyang. In the case of Doomfist, develops have already revealed that the punchmaster will receive an upgrade to return his Rising Uppercut ability to his kit, which is outright terrifying. As for Wuyang, it’s kind of shocking to see that the new support kid on the block will be ducking into the mode well in advance of some other older faces, like Baptise. Or my G.O.A.T Illari. But I’m not bitter.
Another curious change to Stadium is the introduction of anti-spawn camping turrets. While I have not been privy to such a case, apparently some teams were getting stomped so hard in Stadium that they’d end up locked in their spawn area, which has lead to these deterrents. A curious change, but clearly there was enough data to support it.
Stepping away from Stadium, Cowboy enthusiasts finally get a Mythic skin for the gunslinger:

It’s …something. I do not play a great deal of Cassidy, so I am unsure what people were hoping for with a Mythic skin, but if you wanted tummy hair: here it is. If you aren’t into tummy hair, Orisa is also getting a spectacular gun skin that is basically a gacha machine.
Finally, there will of course be a Winter Wonderland event full of holiday goodies to snap up. This year will apparently bring back the Mischief & Magic, with a wintery twist to keep things fresh. There will also be a unique prize redemption mechanic as you pledge points to either Jingle Tracer, Krampus Junkrat, or Santa Claus Torbjorn. Neat.
Plenty to look forward to, as far as rounding another full year of Overwatch 2 goes.
Godspeed to you support friends, may you find some semblance of safety from both Vendetta and Stadium Doomfist in your games.
Overwatch 2 Season 20 drops December 9.
