After 13 years in the making, Routine, the first-person sci-fi horror game from Lunar Software and Raw Fury, finally has a release date, launching on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass and PC (Steam) on December 5 (December 4 global).
Routine takes place in an 80s vision of the future on an abandoned lunar base, where you’ll need to explore your surroundings to discover the answers to why the base has gone quiet. But exploration is just half of the battle, with killer machines stalking the base’s hallways in search of any threats, making survival just as challenging.
The game was originally revealed in 2012 and even had a March 2017 release window locked in, but the project suffered multiple delays and financial challenges that led people to assume that it was cancelled. But in 2022, the title was re-announced in a partnership with Raw Fury, much to the surprise and delight of everyone who had been holding out hope that it would someday see the light of day.
As someone who has been eagerly following Routine’s development for more than 10 years, I am over the moon that it is on the verge of release.
