Sony Seemingly Leaning Into Feedback With A PlayStation Store User Review Feature

Tell us what you really think

After suffering one of the most incredible negative review sprees of all time, PlayStation appears to be embracing the era of user driven feedback.

Initially only offering a paltry star-based system within their store front, a screenshot has been shared to Reddit recently by a user that was offered a full blown written review menu offering, more akin to how a Steam review might appear.

The discussion seems to suggest that currently these review opportunities are being offered on an invitational basis, with people receiving an email asking if they would like to share their thoughts on a recent game added to their account – so there is no opportunity to co-ordinate a bombing run if a game has had a problematic patch cycle.

It will be interesting to see how this develops, given that Sony should be critically aware of how user feedback can snowball into a behemoth – which is likely why the introductory phase of this feature is being tested so carefully. Platforms like Steam have innovated some very delicate tools to try and ensure that malicious reviewing is easy to spot, so now would be a great time to peek over the fence.

Would you leave a detailed review for some of your PlayStation titles? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
