Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have updated the post-launch content roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers, with everyone’s favourite friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man finally swinging in as a playable character for PlayStation gamers on November 30.
This news comes over a year after the publisher announced that the iconic web-slinger would be released as a playable character exclusively for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game. The character will be releasing alongside the “With Great Power” Hero Event, which will imbed unlockable challenges throughout the Avengers Initiative, telling the story of Peter Parker’s quest to stop the Synthoid army. While the Sony exclusivity is naturally disappointing for any PC and Xbox gamers, there is still a slew of other content dropping on the same day that is worth getting excited for.

This includes “Discordant Sound” – the first raid coming to Marvel’s Avengers that will pit you and your friends against the sound monster Klaw. The raid’s story follows the events of the previous story expansion “War for Wakanda” and will have valuable gear on offer for any team of heroes who fancy themselves brave enough to overcome the sonic-based villain.
The new content also includes an increase of the level cap from 150 to 175, a new gear upgrading system, cosmetic and resource shipments that can be purchased through in-game currency, and new outfits based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Harry's friends got sick of him talking about video games all the time, so he decided to express his passion for them online. When Harry isn't cosied up with a good fantasy novel, chances are he'll be grinding his way through a JRPG or obsessively completing a metroidvania.
