According to a new report, the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will now be releasing in 2023 exclusively on nu-gen hardware.
Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat claimed during the most recent episode of GrubbSnax, that publisher EA and developer Respawn Entertainment had originally planned on releasing the game this year, but have now moved the targetted release into 2023. Grubb said this with certainty, stating that “This game is for sure now not coming out until 2023.”
Additionally, Grubb mentioned that the game would be dropping support for PS4 and Xbox One and exclusively launching on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Atop this, the game will apparently be dropping Fallen Order from its title, leaving the exact name of the game a bit of a mystery for now. The mystery could be solved soon though, as Grubb believes that the game could be shown off in some capacity during the Star War Celebration in California this May.
Regardless of when the sequel releases, it has some big Jedi Council approved boots to fill, as Fallen Order was the excellent single-player Star Wars game that many fans had been waiting years for (we gave it a 9).
