The exciting time of year has rolled around again for Star Wars fans, May the Fourth (Star Wars Day). Yes, technically it’s May 5 now, but the folks in the US are just catching up now, meaning there’s a heap of announcements and releases coming from a galaxy far, far away.
One such announcement relates to the action-adventure game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (which we gave a 9). Fans of Fallen Order have been very vocal in their desire for DLC (myself included), a wish that has, to a degree, been granted today.
Developers Respawn Entertainment has announced a free update that brings with it a number of cosmetic items as well as a new mode. You won’t need to wait either, as the update is live now.
In addition to a bunch of new skins for the Mantis (ship) and BD-1 (your droid companion), players will be able to unlock the Inquisitor skin for Cal, complete with red Lightsabers.
Don’t stress if you’ve already finished the game, you’re now able to replay the story with all of your unlocked cosmetics in New Journey +, so you can rock that pink poncho from the offset. It’s no New Game +, as no upgrades will carry over, but it’s a welcome addition nonetheless.
A new Meditation Training mode allows you to jump into multiple different arenas from the planets in the game, fighting against waves of enemies. There are a number of different challenge requirements that will be featured, such as take no damage or no healing, so it won’t be a cakewalk that’s for sure.
On top of this, you’ll be able to create your own challenge arenas, choosing what enemies you fight, where you fight them and what challenge requirements you must meet. This is all done using a grid system that looks pretty easy to use, so those of us (myself) with very little creative flair shouldn’t have an issue creating a half-decent challenge.
The new update is live now for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Are you a fan of Fallen Order? Will this draw you back in to play again? Let us know.
