According to a report by Deadline, the classic beat ’em up series Streets of Rage is set to receive a film adaptation.
Deadline’s sources claim that the script has been written by Derek Kolstad, the creator and writer of the John Wick series. The script was originally written without any guarantee that the project would go into production, but it looks to have received the green light.
The film is set to be produced by dj2 Entertainment, producer for the recent Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie, and Escape Artists, producers on the Equalizer franchise. No further details have been provided at this stage, so we’ll just need to wait for an official confirmation.
