Developer Rebellion has announced that its first-person RPG, Atomfall, will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC on March 27, 2025.
Revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase in June this year, Atomfall is a new IP from Sniper Elite developer Rebellion. Set in 1957, five years after a nuclear disaster that ravaged the countryside of Nothern England, players will explore the quarantine zone, crafting, scavenging and fighting against various cult members and automatons that now inhabit the once idyllic area.
Rebellion has stuck largely to the Sniper Elite series for the past few years, so this could be considered a step outside their current wheelhouse, with the first-person perspective and RPG elements being far removed from the third-person sniping gameplay. The interesting setting has a lot of promise, and I’m intrigued by the gameplay snippets that we’ve seen thus far, so you can expect us to cover the release in March.
