The First Trailer For The Uncharted Movie Has Been Released

The adventure begins

Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the first trailer for the upcoming Uncharted movie.

The trailer depicts Nathan Drake, played by Tom Holland, working as a bartender and meeting his eventual partner Sully, played by Mark Wahlberg, before they get down to treasure hunting. Being an adaptation, this trailer is stacked with references to characters and moments from throughout the Uncharted series, namely the mention of Sam, Nate’s older brother that was first introduced in Uncharted 4: A Thieve’s End.

Importantly, the trailer shows that the movie will be filled with plenty of big, ridiculous setpieces that fans of the franchise have grown to expect. One of which takes place in a cargo plane that’s ripped straight from a moment in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, so it’ll be interesting to see just how faithful they are to the games.

We also get a look at the movie’s antagonist, played by Antonio Banderas, who appears to be a rival treasure hunter that will likely be a thorn in the pair’s side.

Give the trailer a watch:

I’m cautiously keen to watch the movie, especially after watching this trailer, but I’m hoping that it manages to buck the trend of video game adaptations being rubbish. This does seemingly confirm that Sully will be without his signature moustache in the film though, so that’s all kinds of upsetting.
