After the release of The Last of Us Part II last year, this year’s The Last of Us Day was perhaps the most primed for a notable announcement, but once again Naughty Dog left us wanting more.
With new content teased ahead of September 26 (September 27 here Down Under), the annual day of Last of Us celebration came and went without any big announcements. Fans who were eager for news on The Last of Us Part II’s standalone multiplayer mode or the rumoured remake of The Last of Us were left disappointed, with the new reveals all too similar to previous years, with a Naughty Dog announcing some new merchandise, artwork and some sales on the PlayStation Store.
Naughty Dog didn’t completely ignore the multiplayer project’s existence, with a statement from Rochelle Snyder and the Naughty Dog team informing us that it is being worked on and that the studio is currently hiring for MP-related positions. You can read the full statement here.
It wasn’t a total fizzer though, with fans getting their first look at upcoming TLOU TV show starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie.
What did you make of this year’s TLOU Day announcements? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
