The Last Of Us Part I Includes A Cheeky Reference To The Office

I’m not superstitious, but I am a little stitious

Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica. These three things aren’t just the key interests of one (imposter) Dwight K. Shrute, they’re seemingly words of inspiration for Naughty Dog.

As discovered by TikTok user rxelei and shared by the Twitter account Naughty Dog Central, an easter egg that references the popular NBC comedy TV show The Office has been hidden within The Last of Us Part I. Well, it’s less of a hidden secret and more of a recreation of the eponymous office space.

Though it’s not a 1:1 exact copy of the recognisable office, the building that the player is seen walking through is undoubtedly the Scranton branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Michael’s office, the meeting room, the door to the annex and Pam’s reception area are all there, down to the general layout of the desks. Unfortunately, it looks like Jim’s desk has been used to barricade the door, or this universe’s Dwight is getting revenge for a prank.

It’s a fun easter egg that fans of The Office will get a kick out of wandering through. If you look closely, you can see a stain on the ground from where Kevin split his chill, though this stain was likely from a person, not a delicious meal.
