Developer Criterion and publisher EA have released a new and extended Speed Race gameplay trailer for the upcoming Need for Speed Unbound.
The three-minute trailer is packed with high-octane racing that showcases the gameplay’s speed and the stylish, anime-inspired flair of the visuals. We follow the player as they participate in several street races that span across the city centre at night, the suburbs in the evening and the back streets during the day. In typical NFS fashion, the driving looks to really steer into the arcade feel, with insane jumps being made with the help of well-timed boosts.
The animated visual effects are the main thing that sets Unbound apart from previous entries. While racing, we see the car shift and change colours, the odometer sparks as gears change, wings sprout from the car while in the air and so on. It gives the gameplay a unique look and makes every frame interesting.
