2K has released a new gameplay trailer for WWE 2K23, showing off several new character models and the debuting WarGames match type.
The one-minute trailer for the upcoming wrestling title wheels out a few new faces, including the recently-returned American Nightmare Cody Rhodes, complete with his badarse entrance jacket and interesting neck tattoo. We see him lock up with Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match while also getting a quick look at some NXT action between Alba Fyre and pre-heel-turn Cora Jade.
The real star of the show, however, is the glimpse we get of WARGAMES (imagine William Regal yelling that). Originally a match type seen in WCW, the WWE version sees two rings put together side-by-side, with an imposing ring surrounding the whole area. In the game, two teams of either three or four will incrementally be added into the match until all wrestlers are accounted for. Then, and only then, will pinfalls and submissions be counted.
Oh, the trailer also shows the musician and pre-order bonus superstar Bad Bunny hitting The Miz with a Canadian Destroyer, a move that the guy has actually hit in real life. Wild.
