Alright, hold your sickly horses and pop the safety back on that saw cleaver. I’m not here to say that any promises have been made or details have leaked, but it’s fun to speculate, so here we go.
This morning, PlayStation published a two-minute sizzle reel titled “3oth Anniversary| Thank You.” This short and sweet clip flicks through scenes from some of PlayStation’s most iconic series, with the phrase “It’s About” being met with various words related to the game shown on screen.
The Last of Us is met with the word “Love,” God of War gets “Family,” Uncharted is “Adventure,” and so on. The video is essentially a celebration of PlayStation’s amazing catalogue of games that meant so much to so many throughout the years, even including some games that aren’t in vogue with the company these days, like Resistance, Killzone, Jak and Daxter, and (most importantly of all) Infamous.
We’re here to talk about one snippet in particular, the last one, in fact. Closing out the wholesome trailer is the familiar sight of a Hunter preparing to duke it out with the Cleric Beast. That’s right, Bloodborne made its way into a PlayStation montage, which would be enough to fuel fan theories for weeks, but that’s not all. The text accompanying this badarse shot is “It’s About Persistence.”
This choice of phrase could be a hint that the persistent outpouring of support for Bloodborne may soon pay off in the form of a new game, a remake, or a remaster, or it could be one step shy of antagonising fervent fans by saying It’s About Patience. It’s likely nothing to get worked up about, but it does seem awfully intentional. And hey, let’s not forget that Sony is moving to acquire FromSoftware’s parent company as we speak. Coincidence? Yeah, probably.
Either way, the video is pretty sweet, so you should give it a watch here:
Alright, lay it on me. Do you think this is a cheeky hint about things to come? Let me know in the comments or on our social media.
