Wargaming Announces Neurogaming and World Of Tanks VR

Taking World of Tanks to a whole new world

Wargaming and VRTech have today announced the formation of Neurogaming, a global, location-based VR gaming provider with in-house technology and content expansion. The first game under development is World of Tanks VR where Wargaming brings the intense combat from its massively multiplayer online game to a completely new platform.

For those unaware of what World of Tanks is exactly, it is a team-based massively multiplayer online action game solely dedicated to armoured warfare of the mid-20th century. Throughout World of Tanks, players will throw themselves into the epic tank battles of World War II, and will have access to an arsenal of over 500 armoured vehicles from the United States, Germany, the Soviet Union, France, Great Britain, Japan, China, Sweden, and Czechoslovakia, all carefully detailed with historical accuracy.

For a bit of background on Neurogaming, the company will be headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus, with a development studio in Moscow, Russia, and already features 75 employees! To nurture further growth, this year will see the company expanding into Europe and the United States with new offices in Amsterdam and New York, opening in the first quarter of 2018.

Currently, Neurogaming is working on CinemaVR, a scalable, location-based entertainment VR solution focused on session-based multiplayer and co-op games.

PolygonVR, another technology in the pipeline, is a high-end, location-based entertainment solution with a full immersion VR platform for competitive long-play multiplayer and eSports. PolygonVR was showcased at gamescom 2017 and the Tokyo Game Show, and already supports both in-house and third-party content.

So, what are your thoughts on bringing World of Tanks to the VR world? Are you excited, or underwhelmed? Let us know your thoughts.
