Back in 2023, we were treated to majesty that was Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun – a blisteringly fun retro-shooter that called back to ye olde days of big guns and big booms. Now Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun 2 is making its way towards a 2026 release, and to start things simmering with anticipation a killer trailer has dropped to show us what big flagship change is coming with the sequel.
Simply put? A Nun with a Gun.
The Adepta Sororitas are a sect of militarised warrior women of the Warhammer 40k setting, zealous in their faith and generous in their munitions. I personally love these crazy bastards with their killer bob haircuts – so I am buzzing at the thought of whipping out a crossbow boltgun and going to town on some heretical arses.
For most of the footage, we see our sister of battle wielding a devastating Power Sword – a futuristic blade that uses a dispersion field to cut through basically anything, by way of hand-wavy sci-fi tech wizard. I might be mistaken, but the lighter build of our armoured heroine might even mean she is a little more spry compared to her Space Marine counterpart.
Apart from the visceral visuals on display, the video description also lets us know that her name is Nyra Veyrath.
I sure hope Nyra has some amazing voice over to go with her taunt button.
