Airship Survival Title Forever Skies Gets An April Release Date Alongside A New Trailer

Developer Far From Home has announced that its post-apocalyptic survival game Forever Skies will be released on PS5 and PC on April 14.

Launching into early access on PC back in June 2023, the game has seen consistent updates and changes, as well as a single-player demo for the PS5 version that offers cosmetic rewards for the full release. The 1.0 release will see a range of new features and content for those who jumped in early, including new biomes and locations, advanced airship building, and additional narrative beats, including a final chapter that will wrap up the game’s story.

For PlayStation players keen to take to the skies, a Deluxe Edition is available for pre-order that will grant you five airship decorations, as well as 72-hour early access to the game, letting you skip the queue and begin your airship journey on April 11.

For those unfamiliar with Forever Skies, the newest trailer will be a great place to start. Returning to Earth after the apocalypse all but wiped out humanity, you and up to three other players are tasked with exploring the ruins of civilisation, craft and airship to sustain your mission and uncover the secrets behind the end of the world.

We played Forever Skies back when it first hit early access and had a blast flying around a dilapidated Earth, saying in our preview, “With the caveat that this is very much an Early Access title, I recommend getting in at ground level with Forever Skies (pun intended). Not only will you have an awesome high-flying adventure as it grows, but you may also have a chance to shape how the final product looks, which is far more satisfying than cobbling together a stone pickaxe.”
