Amazon took to social media to post a proper look at Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as Atreus for the God of War series, showing an on-set pic of DAD and BOI doing the hunt from the beginning of the game:

While I applaud the accuracy, I can’t help but take note that the incredibly flat lighting is doing it no favours. I would openly say that this is a pretty candid shot of the production set, with very little in the way of grading or touch ups – so I am firmly on the fence of “I am hopeful the final product will look better.”
With the incredible casting behind the show, I am also exceptionally sure that the show itself will be entertaining. Mandy Patinkin alone has me firmly seated for the tale. The rest of the cast is similarly magnificent:
- Teresa Palmer as Sif
- Max Parker as Heimdall
- Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor
- Mandy Patinkin as Odin
- Alastair Duncan returning as Mimir
- Danny Woodburn as Brok
- Jeff Gulka as Sindri
- Ed Skrein as Baldur
The casting of Alastair Duncan is a particularly big win for the community – considering he is the original voice of Mimir – so having him return to provide the “smartest man alive” wit in live-action will brilliantly bridge the gap between the games and the show.
No release date is set as yet, but we can clearly see that things are well under way.
