Somehow, BlizzCon returned. The event has had a sporadic presence since 2019, factoring in both the pandemic and some less than stellar public opinion that facilitated perhaps giving it a miss. The last statement regarding the event mentioned that it would return in a “reimagined” state – and I am assuming that imagination has taken place enough to deploy the event once more.
Therefore 2023 will see a bold return for the fan event, taking place in Anaheim this November 3-4:

It’s a bold strategy, given the current social stock of Blizzard has dipped dramatically given the depressing announcement of Overwatch 2’s PvE plans.
Many over social media are openly questioning what the event could offer, given it’s role as a celebration of Blizzard properties – and the vibe just isn’t there right now.
It’s a long way until November this year, so perhaps Blizzard does have some positive news being cooked up – or maybe they want to use it as a platform to make announcements to right the ship. They do still have that un-named survival game under development, so maybe it’s in a state to be unveiled. I personally will be tuning in for the stellar cosplay events, because it would take some serious work to ruin their magic.
BlizzCon will take place in Anaheim, November 3–4.
