Darktide Drops An Enormous Patch To Solve It’s Loot Issues

More boomsticks, more fun

The developers of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide have blessed the patient with a real stonker of an update that focuses on the many gearing woes felt by players.

Back in January, they issued an open letter that addressed a great many concerns and made some hefty promises to fix them – going so far as to even delay the console releases of the game. Now that patch is live, and is named “Blessings of the Omnissiah“.

The patch itself is absolutely immense – to the point where I honestly can’t simply quote the notes here, as you would be scrolling for ages.

However, in the nuttiest of nutshells, the primary aim of the patch is to relieve the frustrating elements of gearing. This means:

  • Getting more crafting materials from gameplay
  • Successful missions will now always give you goodies
  • The in-game craft NPC can amend and strip bonuses from weapons
  • In-game currency offerings are a lot more generous, and less frustrating to earn

Basically a who’s who of teeth-gnashingly painful systems that might have been palatable on their own – but together formed a chorus of irritation.

Beyond these neato changes, there are also a ton of balance changes and newly implemented player friendly systems, such as emotes and Wargear sets to keep your favourite builds ready to go.

It is a colossal step in the right direction for the game, considering the interest of many had started to wane as the endgame progression actually supercharged the annoying systems to their zenith.
