October 26 is an important day for Helldivers, representing the signing of the Liberty Day Pact – where all Helldivers spend 24 hours in contemplation of freedom and Managed Democracy. There is also gifts for the kiddies.
Lore aside however, it is also a great opportunity for players of Helldivers 2 to jump into the game and grab some goodies for themselves, including:
- Some classically styled Helldivers armour
- A new gun that has a freaking bayonet

It is a packed schedule, with some fantastic lore-friend events for people to enjoy – though sadly these aren’t reflected in game, you can always head on over to the Helldivers Discord and try role-playing along with some mates. Why not nominate someone for a Surprise Dissident Execution?
The best part is that the developers at Arrowhead are keenly aware that having an event take place at a particular time often means that people with a packed schedule might not be in a position to reap the rewards – so a clarification has been passed out on the Discord to make sure people know that if you can’t jump in on the day, you can still get the goodies.
Meaning Liberty day really is for everyone, even the tardy.

It has been a rollercoaster year for Helldivers 2 – full of controversy and player mood shifts, but the current explosion-pocked landscape of the game is one of positivity, thanks in no small part to the dogged efforts of the Arrowhead team to address player concerns.
So when Liberty Day rolls around this year, perhaps consider celebrating it as a way to appreciate a team of people that refused to let their darling die. Oh, and for the free stuff of course.
Are you jumping into Helldivers 2 to spread these principles throughout the galaxy for Liberty Day? What about some hardcore bayonet action? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
