Ed Boon Snarfs Hot Wings And Shows Off Jean-Claude Van Damme In Mortal Kombat 1

TOASTY

You may be familiar with First We Feast, a brilliant YouTube channel that houses the oh-so spicy interview series known as Hot Ones, a double-serving of delicious spicy hot wings and awesome interview questions.

In the latest episode, Ed Boon, the legendary co-creator of Mortal Kombat, sat down to test his resolve against the perilous poultry and talk about everything that has lead him to Mortal Kombat 1. He also gave a tasty sneak peek at Jean-Claude Van Damme’s appearance in the game.

It’s a heartwarming look into Ed Boon’s past, with his anecdotes about game development showing just how much the industry has changed. He fondly remembers how straightforward game development was with a smaller team – considering that the first Mortal Kombat game had only four people working on it, it’s hard to get much smaller. It’s a far cry from the literal hundreds of people working on modern titles, but he of course acknowledges that modern games are delivering stuff that we had never dreamt of.

We also get a proper look at the likeness of Van Damme that will ship as a special skin for Johnny Cage, completing a hilarious cycle that dates back to the original Mortal Kombat game wanting to include him.
