After a pretty spectacular teaser trailer that didn’t even tease the film itself, Mortal Kombat II now has an actual trailer that tells us what to expect.
With plenty of new faces – particularly some ugly ones – we get a look at Johnny Cage navigating the odd world of outworld, and coming to grips with the ‘mortal’ part of Mortal Kombat.
Where the first movie introduced the mythos of Mortal Kombat – this one is clearly getting down to business. With proper talk of a tournament, bigger baddies and a very brief appearance of Cole Young, this may well be the Mortal Kombat movie people have been hungry for.
The vast kast of kharacters is also on full display, seeing a proper look at Kitana, Baraka and the hulking Shao Kahn.
There’s also no end of game accurate outfits, with my guy Noob Saibot looking like he just stepped out of Mortal Kombat 11. On the other hand, there is a very unique new look for Jade – but I don’t hate it. Even Raiden is wearing his signature blue tabard. Keen to see more.
Mortal Kombat II comes to theatres in October.
