Elden Ring Nightreign’s Overview Trailer Gives A Great Rundown Of What You Can Expect From The Upcoming Co-Op Title

Nightreign in your confusion

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware have released a new overview trailer for Elden Ring Nightreign that details the game’s various systems and general flow.

Revealed during The Game Awards earlier this year, Elden Ring Nightreign is a standalone multiplayer co-op title that sees three players embody Nightfarers as they battle through three brutal days in hopes of unseating a Nightlord boss waiting for them at the end.

Elden Ring is wildly popular, even by FromSoft standards, but Nightreign is a different beast, so there are likely a few questions on fan’s minds. Thankfully, the game’s latest trailer goes some way to explain how rounds of Nightreign will play out.

Players will choose from eight preset Nightfarers before entering the country of Limveld at level one. Woefully unprepared for the boss waiting at the end of the day, players will choose how to best spend their time. Levelling up through combat with enemies scattered throughout the map, searching for better gear and loot, and hunting for hidden information are a few ways to prepare for what’s to come. As the trailer depicts, players can also choose to infiltrate strongholds that contain more powerful enemies and mini-bosses that offer greater rewards for the greater challenge. Just don’t get comfortable with where all of these things are, as they will chop and change with every play session.

Your day in Limveld culminates in a far more savage night. The inhabitable map will shrink, pushing your team to an inevitable battle with a formidable boss. Survive the night, and your team will take refuge at the Roundtable Hold, where all players will have the chance to collect themselves and enhance their Nightfarer with ability-altering Relics found during the previous run.

Finally, at the end of the third day, your party will come face-to-face with a Nightlord. These end bosses are more ferocious and deadly than any other in the game and will act as your party’s final challenge.

Better yet, why not hear it straight from the horse’s mouth? Of course, this horse is a WellPlayed writer who has actually played Elden Ring Nightreign. Last month, we had the opportunity to go hands-on with Nightreign, saying in our preview that “There’s every chance Nightreign will scratch an itch you may not know you had (possibly with a battleaxe), and I will be watching eagerly to see how all the pieces in just a few short months.”

Elden Ring Nightreign will be releasing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on May 30.

Now that you have an understanding of what to expect, are you excited to get around Nightreign? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
