Everything Announced At The Game Awards 2025

One of the best Game Awards we’ve seen

Every year, we have the same conversation about The Game Awards. Should the show focus more on the awards themselves, giving each winner more time to say their thank-yous, or should it take the opportunity to show viewers what they have to look forward to in the coming years with trailers and hype packages? There’s definitely a healthy balance, and organiser Geoff Keighley continues to search for it each December. Still, the truth of the matter is that The Game Awards is an important date on the gaming calendar, both as a showcase and an awards show.

With that said, we’ve reached another year-end awards show, and the announcements, reveals, and world premieres are primed and ready to go. So, without any further delay, let’s have a look at what The Game Awards had in store for us this year.

Here is everything that was announced during The Game Awards 2025:

The Free Shepherd

Play as a dog, shepherding a flock of sheep through a beautiful countryside. What more could you possibly want? If you’re a fan of Journey or Sword of the Sea, this looks like it will scratch a similar itch on face value.

Decrepit

A first-person action-horror experience with swords and gross monsters trying to kill you. This one takes pages out of the Souls series in terms of combat and challenge, so there will be an audience for this one for sure. Coming to PC in 2026.

Audiomech: Your Music Transformed

A bullet-hell that’s powered by music. Your weapons and their potency are dictated by the music you’re playing. And I mean your music. Whack on an album, jump into the game, and see what it does. A demo on Steam will go live tomorrow.

Pragmata

Is it a secret Mega Man sequel? We’ll have to wait and see, because Geoff didn’t tell us. This new trailer gave us another look at the game’s interesting puzzle-solving and third-person shooting, including a cheeky look at a massive boss fight. Oh, and we finally got a release date of April 24, 2026. Wait, there’s more. A demo on Steam just went live, and the game is coming to Switch 2. Phew.

Bradley the Badger

This one is…strange. It’s a 3D puzzle-platformer where you play as an anthropomorphic badger who can transform into various objects and interact with the environment in creative ways. The trailer ended with some live-action shenanigans; it might have some funky twists. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Stupid Never Dies

Back-to-back oddities in the pre-show. Two anime-looking characters smashed out a musical number to introduce Stupid Never Dies, before gameplay showed it to be a 3D action game where you beat the crap out of monsters as a zombie boy on his way to save the frozen love of his life. Wild.

Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic

The main shows first w-w-world premiere set the damn tone. A single-player action-adventure game set during the time of the Old Republic is fucking awesome. We only got a brief cinematic trailer, but hot damn, what a cinematic it was.

Divinity

Alright, Geoff, why did you put a random statue in the desert? We finally got our answer by way of an elaborate stage performance and a slick trailer showing lovely festivities, filled with merriment, cheer, and a god damn wickerman sacrifice. The trailer was gruesome as hell, doing a fantastic job of amping us up for Larian Studios’ next title

4Loop

Right, well JJ Abrams and Mike Booth take the stage to confuse us all – the dude who loves lens flares too much, and one of the people who helped made Left4Dead. But hey, a combat sandbox experience? Purple statue people? Something that hopefully is not to Left4Dead what Back4Blood was. Hey, it even has ‘4’ in the name – 4Loop. I am at least on board with the nightmarish visuals of 3D printing your new human body once you have died, but a sizzle trailer has not told me anywhere near enough to get jazzed.

Coven of the Chicken Foot

I absolutely adore weirdo titles that are entirely based around a co-op puzzle-solving experience. I have seen it done with prison brothers, I have seen it done with a crumbling marriage – heck, I have seen it done with Lego Bricks. But Coven of the Chicken Foot seeks to distinguish itself by leveraging an …old lady and a monster. I am very interested in this, especially if it is suitable for a kid to watch the story unfold. What dynamic does a nanna and her beastly friend offer? I desperately want to know more.

Ontos

Stellan Skarsgård narrating a trailer is bound to catch my attention. Ontos is a sci-fi narrative game with more than a splash of horror mixed in. A spiritual successor to Soma, Ontos looks just as unsettling and confronting, so you better believe we are on board. This one is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Resident Evil Requiem

With an incoming RE game looming, of course ,it will be shown off at Geoff’s big party. With some seriously cinematic visuals, we get to see some more of the key players within Requiem’s story – including a super goopy dude who likes to yell at poor Grace. Oh, and Leon is here …but we already knew that. He’s got a fancy new jacket and a killer guitar sting backing him up – time will tell if he has any pointless backflips to share with us.

Order of the Sinking Star

Four distinct puzzle offerings, coming together into some crazy overworld experience – I gotta say, I was gripped pretty quick. The preamble mentioned it has had over 10 years of development time, and seeing that it touts 1400 puzzles, I can understand that. If you like sliding and beam puzzles, this might be the most electrifying title you can anticipate in 2026.

Exodus

Exodus is…a space RPG? From a Wizards of the Coast property? Look, I will be honest – it looked interchangeable with essentially any other recent space RPG-type game, albeit with some neato cyber animals. The thing that kept distracting me was what I can only assume was Matthew McConaughey’s voice as some spooky narrator guy. Maybe I will learn more as it approaches the 2027 release date.

Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons

Wizards of the Coast isn’t done yet, though, welcoming actress Tricia Helfer to the stage to talk through an upcoming title that is focused on D&D – but in a different way. With some 2000’s era-ass backing music and a cinematic look at some D&D’s best baddies, Warlock: Dungeons and Dragons may well be a solo story experience starring your favourite spellcasting class. Or not. The trailer didn’t really tell me much at all. Find out more 2026 I guess? Edit: “Our focus is making a video game first: an immersive, single-player, open world experience,” Invoke general manager Dominic Guay said. Well, there you go.

Control Resonant

Dylan Faden is back in the spotlight. We’ve known about Control 2 for quite some time now, but this was our first look. While many expected Jesse to take centre stage again, it looks like her brother is in the driver’s seat for the sequel, and he likes getting up close and personal. A more melee-heavy gameplay approach was briefly shown off after a kick ass trailer filled with some wild imagery.

It’s gonna get weirder.

Gang of Dragon

Legendary Japanese developer Toshihiro Nagoshi unveiled a wholly original game in Gang of Dragon, which looks like an action-packed blockbuster with Ma Dong-seok playing the baddest dude in Japan. With his Ryu Ga Gotoku pedigree, expect it to be enormous and extremely entertaining.

Street Fighter

The trailer including the JVB song Punk Tactics, was enough to put a smile on my face, but the insanely accurate characters made that smile a lot bigger. Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes even hit the stage to talk about the movie, oh, and the rest of the cast as well. The best part of the sneaky look we got was the confirmation that a car is going to get the shit kicked out of it. Cinema.

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Another look at the most Arkham-styled game to not have Arkham in the title, this game continues to look absurdly broad in scope. You almost forget it is a Lego game with how much is going on in terms of gameplay and features. Even the story lines appear to engulf every major story beat from other Batman media. Like, Danny Devito’s Penguin? Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Mr. Freeze!? What more could you want? It’s going to be a big hit in 2026, I don’t doubt it.

Tomb Raider: Catalyst

Lara is back, with Crystal Dynamics in the driver’s seat once more. We’ve got a more classic-looking Tomb Raider, complete with ancient civilisations and monologuing bad guys. It’s the worst-kept secret in gaming, and now it’s out there for all to see. It’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2027.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

Look, my personal history with Tomb Raider is one filled with dinosaurs and skateboarding demons. I have no beef with the newer ones – they are great, but like …c’mon. Dinosaurs. From Amazon Studios and Flying Wild Hog, we look to be getting a proper revisit to a time of diving with dual pistols, leaping past terrifying traps and marvelling at all the ridiculous stuff that has been long buried underground. It’s a bit of a bummer that we need to wait until 2027, but hey, it gives me time to play the newer ones while I wait.

Forest 3

While I was jokingly saying during the game reveal trailer that it looked vaguely like a Sons of the Forest in space, I was left with my jaw on the damn floor when I was right. The survival series is going interstellar, with some rancid-looking monsters and a wicked little grabby arm strapped to the player character’s shoulder. I’m in.

Invincible VS

Ella Mental is coming to Invincible VS! And the presentation is immaculate. The game just continues to shape up as a brilliant spectacle fighter, so I am down for every new addition , especially when punny names are involved.

Orbitals

With a brilliantly 80’s anime aesthetic that looks pulled straight from Captain Harlock, Orbitals looks like an incredible couch co-op experience. Tootle around in space as Maki and Omura, two inseparable explorers who are trying to fix their crumbling space station home. I’d almost call it cosy if the crushing vacuum of space wasn’t a constant, terrifying threat. Exclusively coming to Nintendo Switch 2.

Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred

A new Diablo IV expansion is night – with Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred pitting us foolish mortals against the prime evil Mephisto, following his slow ascension in the Vessel of Hatred chapter. The hype builder from this presentation is seeing the incredible PALADIN class return to the game after a conspicuous absence. Demons, prepare to smited – because the Paladin will be available tonight.

Marvel Rivals

The Merc with a Mouth is coming to the hero shooter’s ever-expanding roster of heroes, villains, and…whatever Deadpool is. Get Tyrannosaurus wrecked is a fantastic line, I ain’t gonna lie. Better still, Elsa Bloodstone was teased at the end of the trailer, so she’s likely to join the battle too.

007 First Light

So Lenny Kravitz is going to play a Bond villain in the upcoming 007 First Light. While this is cool, it does leave me wondering if perhaps Jamiroquai would be a better fit – if you have seen the video clip for Virtual Insanity, the dude clearly has psychokinetic powers. Oh, and 007 First Light does look cool, I guess.

Lords of the Fallen 2

I won’t get caught up in this series’ naming conventions here, because this trailer looks rad. Brutal combat, incredible character and monster designs, and some fantastic landscapes that really need some soap. This one is coming in 2026.

Saros

My man Rahul Kohli took to the stage to introduce a new trailer for Saros, the next game from Housemarque. Unlike Returnal, we will be getting a supporting cast alongside Kr Kohli, which will undoubtedly kick ass. The gameplay shown in the trailer looks like a natural evolution of Returnal’s roguelike awesomeness, with a bunch of potential Lovecraftian business mixed in. Time isn’t moving fast enough. I want this game now. It’s a bummer, but the new trailer came with a delayed release date of April 30.

No Law

Ok, imagine Cyberpunk 2077, but with Tom Selleck as the protagonist. Boom, you’re there. For real, there was a lot of Cyberpunk to be found here with No Law. It’s not that it looked bad; it actually looked pretty cool. It just looked like another game. A lot like another game.

Total War: Warhammer 40,000

The Total War series is getting all grimdark, with the next game in the franchise looking to impress the God Emperor. David Harbour hit the stage to make the announcement, confirming that he will, in fact, be in the game. Massive armies, Space Marines of every colour and creed, and a WellPlayed writer whose name rhymes with Mash Sailing with an increased heart rate.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve

Bandai Namco presents some military pornography, with what looks like a Top Gun experience for people who love all things fighter jet, friends and fashionable anime protagonist-people related. The Ace Combat series returns with the biggest scoped game ever, even turned my head as a long-term not-flying person.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer

Podracing? Are you kidding me? Oh, wait, it’s a Star Wars game that isn’t podracing? Interesting. I can’t lie, I’m a little disappointed, but I’ll stay optimistic, because the trailer was kinda rad and former Burnout devs are developing it. Actually, you know what, I’m hyped out of my mind, come to think of it.

Out of Words

Earlier, I said I love co-op games – but I also love games with a gorgeous aesthetic. With a puppet-like presentation that mirrors stop-motion, Out of Words hits a very high note very quickly with a quirk relating to the protagonist’s missing their mouths. It looks brilliant, and I am very much seated to know more.

Phantom Blade 0

I don’t know what parents are on about. I just watched a dude mow down a bunch of armed enemies while holding a baby. Parenting can’t be that hard. Real talk, we got more fast-paced gameplay here, showing challenging bosses and a bunch of flashy swordplay. And, as promised, we finally have a release date. Phantom Blade 0 is dropping on September 9, 2026, on PS5 and PC.

Mega Man Dual Override

MEGA MAN RETURNS. With a classic 2D style and gameplay, the 2027 return of the blue bomber looks like something I would have seen in a dream. With an orchestral rendition of the iconic theme, I genuinely felt a chill go down my spine. Will it be worth the wait? At this point, we Mega Man fans are starving so bad that we will appreciate anything.

Highguard

Former creators of Apex Legends debuted their new game as this year’s “one more thing.” Highguard is a first-person multiplayer raid shooter complete with mounts, destructible environments, and devastating character abilities. It’s hard to get a proper gauge on this medieval-meets-modern shooter, but Geoff certainly had a lot of nice things to say about Highguard, and we won’t need to wait long to find out for ourselves, as it launches as a free-to-play title on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on January 2, 2026.
