During today’s Summer Games Fest Kick-Off event we got our first look at gameplay from the upcoming Evil Dead: The Game. Announced during the 2020 Game Awards, Evil Dead: The Game is an asymmetric multiplayer adaptation of the cult classic horror franchise starring everyone’s favourite chainsaw-handed maniac Ash Williams.
The game itself will allow a team of four players to take control of iconic characters such as Scotty, Lord Arthur, Kelly Maxwell and Pablo Simon Bolivar as they explore well-known locations, looking for a way to seal the breach between the worlds. Much like Dead By Daylight and Friday The 13th: The Game, a fifth player will be in the role of the Kandarian Demon, possessing Deadites, manipulating the environment and taking on the survivors head-on in an attempt to stop them.
The gameplay trailer shows off a good amount of gory action and gives us a solid look at what a match will look like. At the end of the trailer, we even get a short sneak peek at what playing as the Kandarian Demon will look like and it looks damn good. Oh, and did I mention that it’s narrated by none other than Bruce Campbell? Give it a watch:
Evil Dead: The Game launches on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X&S, Xbox One, Switch and PC in 2021.
