Jorts are out, anticipation is in. It’s time for the WellPlayed crew to get back in the habit of letting everyone know what’s coming up in the next calendar month. With denim done away with, let’s get together to review the launch schedule and discuss the game’s worth getting around to as the days tick by. February tends to be a busy month, with the gaming industry kicking back into gear after the holiday period. And that’s easy to see this year, with huge sequels and brand new IPs alike looking to sneak into the shortest month of the year. So, without further delay, let’s take a look at which games you should get around in February 2026.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined
Developer: Square Enix | Publisher: Square Enix | Platform: PS5/Xbox Series X|S/Switch 2/PC | Release: February 5 | Wishlist
Revisiting the original game released in 2000, Dragon Quest VII Reimagined brings the standout from the long-running RPG series into the modern era. A new art style, streamlined narrative, and updated gameplay mechanics close the 26-year gap, while retaining the charm of the original. We went hands-on with Dragon Quest VII Remimagined late last year, and the 90-minute preview only heightened our excitement for the return to this JRPG classic.
Nioh 3
Developer: Koei Tecmo | Publisher: Koei Tecmo | Platform: PS5/PC | Release: February 6 | Wishlist
Back when the Soulslike genre was in its infancy, one game series stood above the rest as a true alternative to FromSoftware’s goliath. Nioh 3 continues the Japanese mythology-themed RPG, with players utilising the strengths of two fighting styles: samurai and ninja. This iteration introduces an open world, filled with yokai lurking around eerie villages, giving players an added layer of freedom to explore and engage with the world on their terms.
Crisol: Theater of Idols
Developer: Vermila Studios | Publisher: Blumhouse Games | Platform: PS5/Xbox Series X|S/PC | Release: February 10 | Wishlist
Some games only require an elevator pitch to get you in the door. The latest game to come from Blumhouse’s game publishing efforts is one such title. Crisol: Theater of Idols is a first-person survival horror game set in a twisted version of Spain, where monstorcities roam the streets and threaten your life. You can fight back with firearms, but your ammunition is your own blood, forcing you to inflict pain upon yourself just to stay alive. It’s a unique premise with a unique look, so it’s one that’s firmly on our radar.
Romeo is a Dead Man
Developer: Grasshopper Manufacture | Publisher:Grasshopper Manufacture | Platform: PS5/Xbox Series X|S/PC | Release: February 11 | Wishlist
Explaining a Suda51 game can feel like a fever dream in itself, but that’s part of the appeal. The latest release from Grasshopper Manufacture, Romeo is a Dead Man, follows the leading man, Romeo Stargazer, as he is recruited by the FBI’s Space-Time Police as a special agent to apprehend intergalactic criminals, all while he searches for his lost love, Juliet. Fast-paced action filled with guns, swords, and gore will adorn this stylised action game, but, let’s be honest, you’ll mostly be moving from one insane moment to the next.
Mario Tennis Fever
Developer: Camelot Software Planning | Publisher: Nintendo | Platform: Switch 2 | Release: February 12
Mario and his friends and foes are hitting the court once again this year in Mario Tennis Fever. The largest roster in the series will pick up the new Fever rackets, which will alter the game with various power shots and abilities. Joining the 30 rackets on offer, Fever will introduce a story mode, a range of match types, and a few new shots and gameplay wrinkles that will help mix things up for long-time Mario Tennis players.
Reanimal
Developer: Tarsier Studios | Publisher: THQ Nordic | Platform: PS5/Xbox Series X|S/Switch 2/PC | Release: February 14 | Wishlist
Tarsier Studios, the team behind the first two Little Nightmares games, is back at it with another tale of small children in a horrific and gigantic world that’s dead set on squishing them. While it shares many similarities with the team’s previous games, Reanimal ratchets up the horror and introduces a second player. While it can be played alone with a computer-controlled companion, it’s also playable with a friend in online or local co-op.
High on Life 2
Developer: Squanch Games | Publisher: Squanch Games | Platform: PS5/Xbox Series X|S/PC | Release: February 14 | Wishlist
Talking guns quipping like they’re ripped out of Rick and Morty might be a hard sell for some, but it will be a winning combo for others. The first High on Life was met with a mixed reception, but the sequel looks to be upping the ante in every way. Gunplay is looking tighter (and chattier), and traversal is getting a big shot in the arm with the introduction of a skateboard, which will see players zipping around at a breakneck pace.
Reigns: The Witcher
Developer: Nerial | Publisher: Devolver Digital | Platform: PC/Mobile | Release: February 25 | Wishlist
Seeing a new game set in The Witcher universe before CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated sequel launches is a wild proposition, made even wilder when you learn that it plays like a dating app. Reigns is a long-running, card-based narrative series that sees players balance choices and consequences by making a series of A or B decisions to push the story forward. Reigns: The Witcher will see players embodying Geralt through the lens of Dandelion’s embellished tales, as he chooses fight or flight, discussion or death, swoon or sword.
Resident Evil Requiem
Developer: Capcom | Publisher: Capcom | Platform: PS5/Xbox Series X|S/Switch 2/PC | Release: February 27 | Wishlist
Arguably the biggest release in a stacked month, Resident Evil Requiem marks the series’ return to Racoon City. More importantly, it marks the return of everyone’s favourite jacket-wearing, spin-kicking hunk, Leon S. Kennedy. Requiem blends tense survival horror with more action-heavy gameplay by offering two playable characters in the aforementioned former Racoon City police officer and the perpetually terrified Grace Ashcroft. Third-person or first-person, Requiem looks like it will have the spooky goods and plenty of one-liners to boot.
There we have it, the cream of the crop for February 2026. While these are among the best of the best to drop in Feb, it’s by no means an exhaustive list of releases. From Yakuza Kiwami 3 to Carmageddon: Rogue Shift, there is a wealth of extra titles dropping during the year’s shortest month.
With that said, what are the games you’re most excited to play in February? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
