Welcome to 2025, everyone. So far, this new year is all about Switch 2 leaks and leaks that show the Switch 2, so it’s nice to talk about something else, even if it’s an update to a subscription service. The PlayStation Plus Essential offerings for January are a bit of a mixed bag, but that’s only half of the recipe, so let’s look at what else we’re putting into the bowl and whack this bad boy in the oven. That got away from me, sorry.
As announced on the PlayStation Blog, the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue for Extra and Deluxe members will be updated on January 22, adding 11 new titles to these tiers.
PlayStation Plus Extra/Deluxe
- God of War Ragnarök
- Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name
- Atlas Fallen: Reign Of Sand
- SD Gundam Battle Alliance
- Sayonara Wild Hearts
- ANNO: Mutationem
- Orcs Must Die 3
- Citizen Sleeper
- Poker Club
PlayStation Plus Deluxe
- Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings
- Medievil II
The continued adventures of Kratos and his BOY rightfully take the top spot for this month’s update. Ragnarök is a class act follow-up to the widely acclaimed God of War 2018, with an expanded world and many more gods to kill (we gave it a 9). It’s not the only highlight, though, as Sayonara Wild Hearts and Citizen Sleeper are both highly-regarded indies, with the latter expecting a sequel in February, so now is the perfect time to get acquainted with the original.
What do you think of this update to the catalogue? What games would you like to see added next? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
