Knuckles Appears In The Paramount+ Super Bowl Commercial

Also the band CREED was there

So the latest advertisement for Paramount+ is out, and with it comes another cast of characters dicking about on a mountain.

Saving this masterpiece for the Super Bowl, the conundrum seems to be that Master Chief, Arnold from Hey Arnold, Drew Barrymore, Patrick Stewart, Lt Jim Dangle from Reno 911, Peppa Pig, Some Goon from the Miami Dolphins and Knuckles the Echidna need to throw a rope high enough to get up the cliffside.

Of course, the solution is simple – with a footballer present, they need something (or someone) football-shaped for optimal throw distance.

Poor Arnold. Oh, and the band CREED turns up as well.

It’s an odd bit of marketing, but it comes off the back of several other shorts that all communicate the clever line of “There’s a mountain of content on Paramount+”.

So why the heck is Knuckles there? Well it would be easy to forget, but there is in fact a Knuckles TV show coming to the platform as a tie-in to the live action films. Details are spotty (as is a release date, given that it was supposed to be a 2023 release) but we are aware that the show intends to be a lighthearted side-story to the live action Sonic movie-verse.

It’s definitely a unique occasion to technically see the Halo and Sonic universes cross over – even if  it is the TV series Halo universe, it still sorta counts.

What do you think of the Paramount+ marketing campaign? Disappointed that Peppa Pig didn’t get mega-missiled into a mountain? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
