Marvel Rivals Season One: Eternal Night Falls Brings The Fantastic Four Into The Fold Later This Week

The Fangtastic Four

Developer NetEase Games has announced Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, the game’s first proper season of content, which will begin on January 10 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Following a teaser image posted on the Marvel Rivals socials last week, NetEase Games has fully lifted the lid on the game’s inaugural post-launch season. Titled Eternal Night Falls, Season 1 will see the roster of playable characters expand rapidly with the introduction of the Fantastic Four. Mr Fantastic, Human Torch, Invisible Woman and The Thing are all making their way to the game, though we’re yet to see any gameplay or breakdowns of their kits.

Looking at the season’s narrative, Eternal Night Falls will see Doctor Strange dealing with some dimensional disturbances (he’s trapped in the Astral Plane), leaving New York wide open to being plunged into darkness thanks to a partnership between Doctor Doom and, stay with me here, the Prince of Darkness himself, Dracula. Taking a break from brooding and biting, Dracula has teamed up with Doom to throw off the moon’s orbit, resulting in a neverending night befalling New York. This is all kinds of comic book weird, and I’m here for it.

We don’t have any Fantastic Four gameplay yet, but we certainly have this fantastic cinematic reveal trailer that you can watch here:

Season 1 is set to kick off at 8pm on Monday, January 10, so clear your schedules that night and get ready to take it to old man bites-a-lot.
